MINECRAFT
MOVIE
When Warner Bros. set out to bring Minecraft to the big screen, they weren’t just adapting a game–they were building an entire world. A world millions had already shaped block by block, each player leaving their creative imprint. Our role? To develop a cohesive licensing programme that supported the film’s epic storytelling.

How do you build a world that seamlessly extends into toys, apparel, and beyond? Our task wasn’t just visual–it was about creating a storytelling foundation that could bridge film and merchandise.

To bring this world to life for licensing, we developed assets that shaped the film’s identity and ensured consistency across products:
Signature Locations
We helped illustrate the Portal, Overworld, and Nether, ensuring they felt cinematic while staying authentic to the movie.
Character Design
We refined the visual evolution of the heros and mobs, translating whats on the big screen to merchandise.
Licensing Adaptability
Creating a core style guide we formed the foundation for everything from hard to soft lines, maintaining a seamless aesthetic.

In a game where players create their own protagonists, crafting characters for a film adaptation was no small task. We illustrated the key heroes and mobs for licensing–a vector style that could be easily manipulated and worked across hard and soft lines.

THANKS
Huge thanks to Antti and the team at Mojang for trusting Analogue to bring their movie to licensing.
