Batman has has been flipped, battered and bruised. He’s a working-class weapon built on pure, bare-knuckle grit. We translated this massive reinvention, and the terrifying characters that haunt him, into a consumer product style guide that lashes out. By leaning heavily into Horror, Gothic and Gritty undertones, we built a world that captures the raw, monstrous energy of a very different Gotham.

BRUTALIST BAROQUE

Gotham’s new underworld is a waking nightmare. To house a roster this savage featuring a terrifying new Joker, a monstrous Killer Croc that teams up with Batman, a lethal Catwoman, and a hulking Bane, throwing out high-tech slickness for heavy-hitting dread. We developed a toolkit just as aggressive. The aesthetic fuses industrial muscle with Dark Baroque flourishes, utilising ornate, aggressive framing elements that lock these titans into the artwork.

HE LEAVES A SCAR

In a Gotham this sick, nothing is subtle. This Batman’s given up the brooding; he’s an unhinged wrecking ball tearing through a city, we created visuals to live in that city. A mixture of dread and comic-book brutality, a hero who is just as terrifying as the monsters he hunts requires fierce, dark merchandise for a beastly, unfiltered character.
